1929 Brick English Cottage w/ Floor Plans from Sears

Every once in a great while, I have the privilege of touring one of these old cottages built from plans and kits available from Sears. I always love them too. via

I love looking at these photos with floor plans. So interesting the sizes of the rooms compared to many huge homes of today. My home has room sizes similar to these, and I love it!

Oh wow! Hard to believe that payments were ever that low, however I do remember when I first married we paid a little over $100 for our house payment.

I love these two houses you've shared with us. Both really charming, but I'm particularly taken with this one. My grandparents had a house built from plans like these; I ran across them cleaning out my mother's house. I liked their house, too. BTW, it had one bathroom upstairs, but my grandmother added a powder room downstairs when she was older. I think it proved a lifesaver at the end of her life. Really, a powder room on the first floor is extra nice for guests.
Just love that asymmetrical sweeping roof line and arched door. I wish I could ask you questions about architectural details. I'll bet you are a font of knowledge.

I adore these old Sears plans, I particularly like this English cottage. With the downstairs bedroom and bath you could easily grown old in this house.
