My friend who is moving gave me a Blu-ray DVD player and I'm over the moon. Now I can watch discs from the library in my living room. I checked out House of Cards, UK edition but did not like it at all. It seemed too dated for me. I got the "real" Netflix version and am loving it. So far, I have watched Seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 is on reserve and I should get it this week. I know I could subscribe to Netflix but as long as I can keep getting DVDs from the library, I'm ok with that. I am catching up on some movies I haven't seen too. I watched CHEF last week and loved it.
I have a real estate closing Friday (hopefully) on my difficult transaction. Fingers crossed. See you later. xo

love that corner!
I too am fortunate that my library has a wonderful dvd collection.
but then I have collected my favorites anyway...
such as 'as time goes by' with judi dench... and the best jane austen rendition of pride and prejudice with colin firth.
and others!
so happy for you.
and good luck on the closing!!! xo
Netflix is wonderful! We get to pick and choose what we watch with never a commercial. And if we start a series or movie we don't like we don't have to continue it. And we get to choose the timing of our breaks. I am a BIG fan of Netflix.
Every corner of your house is fun to look at. Dh and I are devoted library DVD fans. It's our only source and we never run out of things to watch since our library shares with almost all the libraries in the county. It lets you take a chance on a film you're not sure about since it costs nothing to return it if you don't care for it. Good luck on your closing.
I felt the same way about the original version of House of Cards - I gave it a good try, but just didn't like it. I've really enjoyed the Netflix version.
We use both Netflix (one at a time, their most economical deal) and our wonderful library. The library has both their own in-house collection of DVDs and a wide selection they will order for us from other libraries in the system.
Sending best wishes for a smooooth closing tomorrow!
Loved the peek at the seldom seen corner of your home.
Rosemary,
I love your home. That's great that you can now watch discs in the living room. I'm with you, our public library has such a great selection of DVDs and it beats the fees from Netflix, although I confess we subscribe!
