My Living Room -- Back View + Balcony

I finally have a good photo with the green checked sofa, the French doors and my tiger maple corner cupboard. One of the days, you will have seen it all.

How do you achieve such a beautiful amber glow in that room? Special lampshades?
Beautiful room all 'round.

Ooh, now this is a view I don't remember seeing before. Love the maple corner cupboard, it fits perfectly in that corner. I love everything about this arrangement of your room.

I'm having to sell one of my corner cupboards, actually I'm probably going to donate it to a local charity for their big huge gigantic sale. I've come to terms with the fact that it won't fit in the house we are moving to out west so it must go. My kids don't have room in their homes for it either. I don't think anyone will buy it hence the donation. Corner cupboards are tricky because they need the perfect corner.

Gail -- the gingham checked lampshades are old and the checks are sort of an amber color. They are lined in silk and I have old-fashioned 40 watt incandescent bulbs in the lamps. You can't read a book by the light but the glow is warm and inviting. Glad you like them.

When we all show up for a surprise visit, I have dibs on that straight back arm chair. I'm sure I can get up from that one. The soft, squishy chairs and couches I used to love now tend to hold me captive.

The Queen Vee -- Victoria...I was very lucky to have the perfect corner for my cupboard. Yes they are tricky. I hope you end up finding a buyer for yours. But donating is a wonderful thing too. I sold a lot of my furniture before I moved here but little by little I filled it up again.

Linda Sand -- Ok. It's a deal. I also have a leather Martha Washington chair people gravitate to because it's easy to get out of. That big sofa is perfect for a nice afternoon nap.

I've always loved your home and the treasures within. This photograph makes the rooms appear so welcoming and warm, which I'm sure it is in person.

Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend.
