When I was in high school two friends, one soprano and one alto, sang this without accompaniment at our church program. I will never forget how wonderful that was! I think of them every time this song gets mentioned.
So many carols to love, yes this is one of them especially if sung correctly I've always loved Away in a Manger, Silent Night and I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day too. I Heard the Bell on Christmas Day seems so appropriate for today. Here's a link to the history behind this song, very touching and also interesting.
