Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa, makes putting together pastry look like a piece of cake! I think it helps to have a good food processor and a light touch with the fingers.
Funny, I just spent an hour this afternoon watching a show on PBS about great pie makers around the country.
I've not had a lot of success with pie crusts in Virginia, am hoping I'll do better once I move west. I was pretty good at it when I was a young girl. I agree with JudyMac. May have to ask for afood processor for Christmas.
The pies in your posted phote are works of art, almost too pretty to eat....almost!

Invite me over and see if I'll come! :-)
JudyMac -- I have honestly never mastered pie crust. Those photos make me want to try and you are definitely invited.
