Tabitha's New Cat Cafe

I was feeling powerful yesterday and decided to tear apart my entrance vestibule to clean and declutter. Tabitha always wakes me up in the middle of the night to beg for food because Webster has stolen what I left out for her. I racked my brain trying to think of a new arrangement that would be dog proof and this is is what worked. When I woke up this morning she was already having breakfast and she was able to snack through the night so this setup worked like a charm. That's an old blue fleece pullover on the small bistro chair for sleeping. She needs the booster chair in order to be able to jump up on the makeshift table. The base is a heavy wire basket I use for firewood with a half-round piece of wood in old blue paint for the top. So far, so good. Her woven willow cat bed is in the room too on the floor as an alternate sleeping place.
Now my kitchen is destroyed and I have to work on it next. All the junk I took out of the vestibule needs new places to live and most will go to the basement and the garage. Some will be donated and other things will be put away for the winter. I have way too many scarves, hats, and gloves. Tabitha will be happier when I buy more cat food to fill up her jar as it's almost empty. A Costco run is on my list, maybe later day. Spring cleaning is progressing nicely here at the cottage and it feels good to be organized. UPDATE: I went to Costco and now Webster and Tabitha both have new giant bags of food. They have already sampled it and they both like what I brought home.
Happy Tax Day. Hope you all make the deadline. I'll stay away from the post office today. xo

All hail, Queen Tabitha! They do love to have their kibbles where they can nibble at their leisure.
Good luck on your Spring cleaning. Great time to clean out, throw away, and donate. I took a donation box of things today to a place called Second Life. All proceeds from sales go to finding second homes for pets who need one. Good place to find a nice kitty to adopt while there, but alas, I could not bring one home with me today.

Score one for the cat. Mine used to bite my toes in the morning to wake me. Miss cat; don't miss the early alarm. Clever solution. I clean by shifting things from room to room, but I seem to have run out of that one empty space at the end. Sigh.

We had to keep our Maggie's food up on the counter in the bathroom so that the dogs wouldn't eat it when we weren't home. Very nice set up for Tabitha. Speaking of Costco, our doggies love the new "health" food they offer for dogs--sweet potato and lamb (or beef) I can't remember. What does Webster like?

Rosemary, I always have regarded you as a human dynamo and this posting confirms it. Now if only I might "catch" your spring cleaning and re-organizing spirit. Hope you left pencil and paper on Tabitha's new perch. She'll be wanting to write a thank you note.
Happy Day,
Linda

Karen....I got Webster some new Kirkland grain free dog food with salmon and sweet potato. He absolutely loves it and it's agreeing with him. I got Tabitha the Kirkland Maintenance and she loves hers too.
My life is so much easier with the new setup in the vestibule. I don't think Webster even misses his cat food snacks. He hasn't even tried to figure out a way to reach the cat cafe. I think he knows there's no use.

Linda....I never blog about may days off when I do absolutely nothing constructive and I have plenty of those. I know I would get a very sweet note if Tabitha could write.
