Where I grew up (Battle Ground, WA) there were many old homes like this. For decades, they'd fall into disrepair, as people abandoned them to move into new developments. But in recent years, I've seen more and more of these old homes restored. There is hope! There seems to be more people that are seeing the value of these old treasures and choosing to restore them. I know. I live in a 103-year-old treasure myself!

I would imagine that most people don't have the patience, time, vision or the money to put into a home like the one pictured.
One does wonder what stories it could tell....
