Lovely English Robin

I love these British birds with the inverted hearts on their breasts. via

I think this little bird is known as the European Robin. They sing a lovely song in Monet's Garden at Giverny, and I was lucky enough to see one and take a picture when I was there. :-)

We have a pair, living in our garden. They are my favourite garden resident. :)

I love the English Robin too!
I have a very fond memory of hearing one sing when I was walking down Shepham Lane in Polegate, East Sussex.
Bird fact for you...our robin in America is not in the same family as the robin in England at all, but the early English settlers called it "robin" just because of the colored red/orange breast...makes you see they were homesick for their familiar birds!
So, the birds are called American robins/English robins...that is where we get those 2 names, even though the bird is also in Europe!
I'm sure you know this! xx
