Dining Room in An Old House

I love all the architectural elements in an old house, don't you? Board and batten doors, wide floor boards, winding staircase, and the furniture too. I love rush seat chairs and trestle tables. via

Yes! This would be my perfect dream house!

I love it, too. Wouldn't it be fun to decorate a house like that? It would be like a blank canvas.

I love that there is no clutter and it is really calming. Just beautiful.

We used to call those $10 chairs. Back in the day when it was nylons and short skirts, a chair like that would surely lead to a new pair of nylons. I used to ask for a towel or something to put underneath.

Rosemary, I continue to return to this photo, drawn to the minimalism. Much as I love Christmas trimmings, simple and natural as they are at our home, and am always reluctant to take them down, I find following Christmas that I yearn for the simply, minimal, uncluttered home. And, not just on the surface but within cupboards and closets. Soon, another annual clean up will begin, I can feel it coming on and appreciate this incentive.

Linda...I agree. I have that feeling too. I am craving a simple diet too with plain food. I didn't do too much in the way of decorating but you'd never know it if you could see all the boxes I dragged out of my Christmas closet. I'll have everything put away by New Year's Day.
Wishing you and Bob a Healthy and Happy New Year.
