Sweet Shingled Cottage

It's getting harder and harder for me to find inspiring photos of real cottages that aren't wings of much larger homes. This appears to be a stand-alone dwelling and I love it. via

Hi Rosemary,

I had just pinned this on my site. I found the front of it too. It's actually a pool house on an estate, but I think it would make a lovely little cottage too.

Here's the link to the "cottage," and there are more photos midway down on the right.

It's me again. I can't see my comment yet, so I don't know if I gave you the proper link. Here it is- http://www.houzz.com/photos/6425170/Rural-Vineyard-beach-style-pool-boston If I did give this one to you, then you can just delete this comment.

What an adorable cottage, or pool house or whatever!

I hope those shingles are allowed to weather naturally to a lovely gray.

Perhaps, there's a preservative quality to paint and that's what prompts such an overhaul but I really don't care for painted shingles.

Maggie's comment cracked me up. You know the 1% have far too much money when their pool house! is the size of a small home. ;-)

Rosemary, you struck my heart with this photo. So sweet!

Gail, I agree completely! :) I once went on a home tour, of a house for sale, with a friend who was the real estate agent selling the property. That pool house was actually more than double than the one pictured here, but it seemed "small" compared to the main house.
