Antique Stone House

I had the best time yesterday at a Broker Open House. The tour was in a 250 year old stone house on an amazing property with a barn and a pond. I knew the lady who restored it in the 1970s and she lived out her days there.
It's on the National Register and is for sale $1,599,000. on 12.5 acres. I'd love to show it to you. Here is the link to see the inside. For an appointment, email me at rosemary (dot) beck [at] gmail dot com

Oh I could live out my days there too! That is a charming home, and the wood floors are gorgeous. Really a beautiful home and property. So enjoyed the pictures of the interior. Thank-you.

Hardscrabble Road...is that not the perfect address?

The lady who restored it was the perfect buyer and occupant. She didn't update it beyond recognition.

I'm curious, did she live alone there? Can't imagine.

What a gorgeous piece of property.

GAIL....In the end she did. Her husband predeceased her. I didn't know until I searched the interned for obits. I found hers but his was too old to come up, maybe 2002. Hers was 2013. Her obituary said she lived out her days in that house. I just love the way that sounds.
Yes, it was a very thoughtful renovation. I shudder to think what the next owners might do.

What a beautiful home! Stone houses have always been my favorite, but my favorite feature of this property are those amazing wide-plank wood floors. I hope the home's next caretakers will be as respectful of its heritage as this lady and her husband were.

Lovely, my favorite part is that she lived out her days there, that reminds me of your mother Rosemary. Don't we all hope that we can live out our days in our own homes?

Thanks for posting the link so that we could take a tour of this wonderfully restored and maintained property. Rosemary I hope you are the one to find it's new owner.

That's more like the stone house I originally was after, but I ended up with a cobblestone one.
The interior is stunning--what a beautiful job she did on it. Timeless!

It's just lovely ... the wood floors are stunning ... It would be really interesting to see the "before" pictures.

I always like to imagine the memories that the house might hold ... family gatherings, entertaining, holiday parties.

Thanks for sharing it, I hope you find the next owner.
