These roses are too beautiful for words. The climate in England was kind to rose species brought in as guests from far off lands in times of old and they soon became residents, grew up, bred and cross bred. via
Rosemary, This rose looks like a Romantica rose I own called 'Eden'. They bloom all along the column instead of just at the top and tips of the plant. The building and light are fabulous and only make the rose look even better. :D Karen
Old roses, especially pink ones, are one of my favorite things on the whole earth! I'd take those over expensive jewels anytime and I've told my husband so : ) He likes that, just fine...ha-ha! This is a lovely photo; love the town, too!
I agree, it is an Eden Rose, I have two bushes of them, they are blooming now and picture perfect. I got them at Heirloom Roses in St.Paul, Oregon. They have an Internet site, it is a wonderful place to visit if any one reading lives or plans to visit Oregon.
Thanks for the resource for the Eden rose. I'll find the site and bookmark it for later. After I get some repair work done here at the cottage and have my house painted I'll definitely place an order. They are my favorite roses if they look anything like the photo.

Karen...
Lucky you. These roses are beautiful and bountiful too. I hope they smell wonderful like the old fashioned varieties.

I think that beautiful rose is Eden...easy to grow and completely disease resistant...if you like it you should try it!

Thanks for the recommendation. You make growing roses sound so easy. Dare I take the plunge?

I'm with you. Old pink roses are my favorite too. Jewelry isn't my thing either :)

Just beautiful, the roses, the village and the lamp, it's just too hot and humid to grown roses like these in Virginia. Yep, I have Rose envy.
