I miss Downton very much. I tried HBO's Parade's End and was disappointed. Taped all five episodes but I don't think I can even get through Part 2. Downton's Mary can be trying at times but Parade's Sylvia is hateful without any redeeming qualities. We've been spoiled by Fellowes and his wonderful storylines too. I don't think I'm dense but I don't understand Parade's End...I even tried turning on the captions!
Gail...I watched Parade's End and finished the last episode last night. I watched it on my iPad with the earbuds in my ears and didn't have any trouble understanding it. I used the HBOgo app. Here is a review from Time Magazine: http://entertainment.time.com/2013/02/26/tv-tonight-parades-end/ I loved the character named Valentine Wallop. You should give it another try. xo, Rosemary
I'll give it another try, especially after reading the suggested review in Time magazine. Thanks, Rosemary. Good TV programming is as scarce as hen's teeth so I hate to quibble over such a beautiful period piece, the scenery exquisite. Thanks.
I miss it too. My birthday was Feb. 22. My daughter gave me a subscription to Acorn TV. I have the cable hooked up to my tv now and just started watching Friday night. It opens up so many wonderful options!!! Prefect for our snowy evenings.
I confess! I bought every series ~ the uk version. i'll wait about a month then start from the beginning again. lovely! and as to those two above ~ those beautiful coat dresses! just can't seem to get enough of that program.

I miss Downton, too. But it did brighten my February considerably!

Qui in Italia vedremo la terza serie tra 6 mesi. Mi piace moltissimo!
