I saw my first flock of big fat robins hopping around the backyard yesterday. I took this photo last year at my cottage. This beauty landed on one of the pilars on either side of my front walk and posed very nicely for me. I love these birds, the true harbingers of spring.

Here, yesterday morning, it was a robin's world. The darlings were everywhere but mostly hopping about the leaves that cover the "woods" where we walk. (Not really woods because you can see houses all about but it is a lovely green area wise planners included in their development some 30+ years ago.) The robins didn't pay a mind to us in the very least. I recall their visits in late winter year by year, yet each time it seems a surprise and a delight.
Happy day. It's very grey and chill here. I shall make cupcakes for little Lucy's second birthday.

The flocks of Red-Winged Blackbirds flew into in my area a couple of weeks ago. The saying is, when they arrive at the marshland down on the coast that spring has arrived. Well, they're on their way!
you should become a nature photographer when you grow up!
yes. you're that good.

happy Saturday!
Tam....
Do I have to grow up?
Thanks for your kind words.

Haven't seen any robins yet but you give me hope. I have a grey jay who keeps chasing all the other birds away from the feeders, won't let the cardinals eat. Any suggestions?
I vaguely remember that image from last year...you really do capture the best shots of nature. We get robins on our yard sometimes, I'm not sure they are as colorful as your little guy.
