Post Office - Lark Rise to Candleford

I'm so excited. We are finally getting 'Lark Rise to Candleford' on one of our PBS stations tonight. Season 1, Episode 1. This building is the post office. I cheated and found a website for the whole series so I've already watched the first episode. I wanted to make sure I was seeing it from the beginning. The website is Idaho Public Television and it has full episodes of all four seasons. Keep clicking below on the + sign for more full episodes until you get to the beginning. HERE'S THE LINK.

Oh I'm so envious! I don't think I've seen the first episodes. I was so sad when it was discontinued.

I love the series Lark Rise to Candleford, why did it end? I love period British TV shows, this was a favorite!

Dear Rosemary, thank you for this "hot" TV viewing tip. I must dash out in a few minutes but when I return, I will be sure to check local listings here.
Have a nice day.

Shari...

I'm glad to know the story is semi-autobiographical as I begin my video adventure. Thanks.

Rosemary, I've never heard of this book/television show. Our tv guide does not show this on PBS. Guess I'll watch from the web when I can. Is it similar to Downton Abbey? Thanks, Sara

Sara...It's much less opulent than Downton Abbey. My first thought was of Little House on the Prairie.

Here is a description of the books and TV series:

I love watching TV online!
Try it, you'll like it. Free is good.

LR to C is currently in the Netflix queue in my house and we are loving it! Just began the 2nd season. We have also compared it to a British version of Little House on the Prairie; love the simplicity of the hamlet and the lives of its residents. You may also like Cranford as it has a similar flavor and features Dame Judy Dench.

LR to C "is my only weakness"!

best, Sharon

You are the real reason I wanted to see this series based on your recent comments about watching it. I don't subscribe to Netflix. I'm thrilled I can watch it on my TV in the bedroom or on my computer online.

Based on the first episode, I am going to love it too.

Well I have never heard of this one but I am sure to check it out as I love many of the BBC series. Thanks for the tip! p.s. anyone know when Doc Martin is coming back?

You are going to love this series! I've watched every one, at least 10 times, I think.

Another PBS show you'll have to look for is, Call the Midwife-- it's absolutely wonderful.

Enjoy LRtoC-- it's so much better than network tv.

I haven't heard when the next of season of Doc Martin comes to the US but I can't wait!!!

I'll be sure and post about it as soon as I hear.

I hope you get through the coming storm and don't get snowed in or lose power.
