I don't think I've ever seen a kitchen countertop in this configuration. It's very interesting, isn't it? Do you think it would be awkward when trying to work here? Would you find yourself bumping into these projections or not? Anyway, it all looks very nice in this photo. I think I would just skip the plinths in favor of larger drawers and cabinets. via

It certainly adds interest. I tend to feel bad for the person that had to take measurements to get that countertop. Yikes!
I'm with you Rosemary!
It does nothing for me aesthetically.
I can't see the point of the jutting out bowl either.
Is the bench surface corian or granite???
Thinking of you and hope you're coping ok. I checked out your post with the two lovely photos of Anna taken with Piggy last year - so sweet.
Wish I lived closer and could pop in to give you some Christmas cheer and a hug - hope you've got friends and family to share this special time with dear Rosemary.
Much love

The kitchen is gorgeous but yes, those projections would totally drive me crazy - I would constantly be bumping into them and getting bruises on my hips. Not a good design feature. I love the beadboard over the window.
I really don't think I like all of those countertop "projections" to bump into. I do, however, like the view. What would a kitchen be without a window at the sink!
Loved seeing the picture of your Mother with Piggy. Since his owners are home for the holidays, surely they would bring Piggy by for a visit with you, Webster and Tabitha. I trust some of your many friends have invited you to spend Christmas with them. Merry Christmas, Rosemary, and best wishes for wonderful memories in the new year.
