A Sweet Kitchen

Sometimes I wish I had done a cooktop and built-in oven below in my kitchen. It makes for a more seamless countertop. I like open shelves for other people but for me, I prefer closed cabinet doors in the working part of the kitchen. via

Great kitchen. I agree with the open shelving....I'm too much of a "cleanliness fanatic"--I would be washing all that stuff constantly. Much easier to wipe down cabinet doors.
Hope you're doing ok. I think about you often and hope the healing has begun....

I love the little tile border around the counters. White and blue is a good combination.

Good morning Rosemary, I do love the open shelves, but I have way too much quality "stuff" crammed in my cabinets, could never edit enough to accomplish that! Guess that comes with owning a home almost 35 years. Must get off computer and Christmas shop, Sara

Rosemary,
I like this kitchen but while drawn to open shelves, I have always wondered if I would regret the exposure. Maybe someday I'll have to try it in another house.

Very pretty, and I too love that backsplash/border.

We have glass-fronted cabinets over a butler's pantry in our kitchen, which I always think is a happy medium between open and "closed" cabinetry. At least things don't get so dusty with glass doors between them and the rest of the world. Mine are a bit cluttered at the moment (so many teacups, so little time), but I try to keep them "edited," with some things put away other places. My actual kitchen cabinets have doors, and that's a good thing.

I love the trim color in that kitchen, and the sweet rugs.
