Don't you absolutely love this image!!!? What a great idea. The lady is Rowena Cade, a genuine english eccentric. Read a tiny bit more about her here, here, and much more here. I love her style!
I thought I recognised the lady. What a great photo. I love anything that is used for a different means other than its original intention. Definitely quirky. I like quirky!
I am so glad everyone is enjoying this post. I want to know everything about this amazing woman. Bonnie...I want to be her too. Vicki...she had such vision to purchase that land early on in Cornwall.
This is really a delightful photo but I must confess that that wheelbarrow doesn't look very comfy to me. It would do in a pinch but not for long term sitting. I've always wanted to grow old as an eccentric but I think you have to start that when you're young. I would love to have attended a play at Rowena's theater.
I just finished watching 28 hours (two seasons) of Poldark which was produced in the 1980's by the BBC. Most of the exterior shots were done in Cornwall, such gorgeous country.
What an interesting lady - I followed the links and enjoyed all of them. I like to think that I am a bit eccentric, though not in such a grand manner and of course I have no wheelbarrow to sit in when I read, but my wheelbarrow is painted red and has black ladybug spots painted on it. My grandsons loved to ride in it until they grew too big to push around - so now the two older ones - 8 and 11, push the 1 year old around in the lady bug wheelbarrow.

A gardeners seat. Perfect.

Rosemary,
That is a priceless image. I wonder if our old, rusted wheel barrel would support me sitting in it like that! lol

Rosemary, This may have to be an all time favorite. I someday want to be her. Bonnie
What an amazing woman Rowena Cade was. Wonderfully tireless and dedicated to her dream.
And, land in Cornwall, on the coast, for £100!
I do love eccentric people! You don't see enough of them anymore.

What a wonderful free spirit. To all of you who want to be her some day, here's a bit of advice- just allow yourself to and you will!
