Oh the dichotomy! I think it's both. A blessing, because to be creative is such a gift. And yet a curse, because the Muse can sometimes pursue us into the wee hours of the morning haunting our sleepless thoughts with ideas that tumble and turn endlessly, taunting us to go with passion... create.
your creativity (and technical expertise along with it!) is certainly a blessing to me. my creativity seems to come out in my home and making it beautifully simple. and there... minimalist that i am, i'm sure i'm an ocd! i absolutely love functional beauty.
I'm not overly OCD, but I have been a little more of a perfectionist than I'd like to be, causing me to fuss a little too much when I need to leave well enough alone :) Although, I find as I'm getting older, I am tending more to the 'wabi sabi' philosophy of less is more and simple is beautiful. Finding beauty in imperfection and embracing time/weather worn, understated, humble, natural, simple, a little distressed, rusted and frayed around the edges. A kind of gentle 'aged-ness' as it were. Perhaps I now relate better to this principle as I accept the hard earned lines in my face and the gentle morphing that age inevitably brings to us all :) This principle I try now to encourage as I create. And I find it kind of liberating :)
Rosemary, You are VERY creative...you're right, it can, sometimes, bbe a curse. But in the case of your posts, it's pure entertainment to your readers. Karen

It's a blessing, a total blessing! I can't imagine not being creative!
I really can't either :)
I understand your feeling!!!
Bonnie.
I think my OCD gets in the way :)
I spend way too much time retweeking things that are perfectly fine. I do this on my blog too always trying to make things better.

Yes, you are so right. It IS both!
Are you a perfectionist too with OCD issues?

Tammy,
I'm sure your home is lovely based on the things you like on this blog.
A little OCD goes a long way. I'm glad I don't have a real case....just a touch :-)

Hi Rosemary,
I'm not overly OCD, but I have been a little more of a perfectionist than I'd like to be, causing me to fuss a little too much when I need to leave well enough alone :)

That is a beautiful philosophy and a wonderful way to live your life.

AHA! The truth is that it is a blessing AND a curse!
As my daughter (42)!! are driving by a house......I will shriek!! "AHH LOOK WHAT THEY DID!!)
My daughter says: "Mommy, it must be so hard to be you! Most people don't even see that!"
Totally true!
Both ways. Just how I live it!
Penelope
I adore your blog!
Karen...Thanks for your kinds words.

Penelope...Being observant goes along with being creative. Being a roadside critic goes along with the territory :)
