I would turn the chair around and put it where the table is located so the lamp would shine on my book. I would replace the table with an ottoman. I would reserve the middle shelf cubby for placing my coffee or tea cup and then this arrangement would be perfect. What changes would you make? via

Alas would also have to have protective glass fronts - I have a labrador with a taste for the spines of old books. 125 year old copy of Shakespeare taught us that...
Like you I would move the chair around where the lamp would be shining over my shoulder for perfect illumination. I do like the idea of an ottoman. It really should go on my "I want a library" board, don't you think?
