He's all nestled in and seems to love being inside the Toad House. I made another video for you to see me tilting back the house to check on him. I think this gaudy ceramic monstrosity is pretty tacky but rummage sale shoppers can't be choosy. I forgot was too lazy to bring it in over the winter and some of the glaze popped off but he doesn't seem to mind. It's hidden anyway among the weeds. This time I remembered to have my iPhone in the landscape position for a wider video. I think my garden companion will eat a lot of bugs and insects for me and that's a good thing! Isn't he cute?

Mr. Toad is definitely cute. I like his face. Reminds me a little bit of E.T. His new house is not so bad, either.
Well... I am hearing of a toad house for the first time too! (not counting your post a few days ago...) And yes, it is a little tacky - but then the toad on top + great function + awsome toad viewing inside makes it really cool again - I love it - and Mr. Toad too, of course.
I was having a walk in a nearby nature reserve the other evening - and on my way home at dusk there were so many toads on the little path I really had to pay attention not to step on one!
Rosemary,
That is the cutest video. He is magazine worthy cute. Is that really what the ceramic item is for, a toad house? I've never heard of that...did the same toad visit you last year? Where to they live in the dead of winter? I wish we had toads in our neighborhood, or at least around my house.

Sooooo cute!
I'm sure Mr. Toad will not complain about his wonderful new Toad House. It is very colorful and fits him to a T. I have little green frogs around my entrance door .... perhaps I should try to find a little home for them. I have to be careful they don't jump inside the door when it is opened. Otherwise, my cat Chaucer would move heaven and earth to get his paws on one.
Toads are so cool and so good for the garden, unlike duplicitous, fluffy bunnies which are destroying my tomatoes and hosta, but who's bitter?
I adore that toad house and the toad who inhabits it! I think it is completely wonderful! Enjoyed your video!
Thank you for showing us the toad abode!
I love your toad cottage. He is stylin' and profilin'.
