I am in the final stages of building a log cabin. Bark, if that is what the shingles are made out of, attract chewing, nesting, flying and crawling hoards of bugs. A borate solution helps but who wants to keep doing that. Most of my cabin is bark-on wood cut from my own forest. I hope it works for me and for the people who own that delightful cabin in your picture. Linen Queen
