My friend Lynn and I went to a showcase in a medieval castle yesterday and had a wonderful time. I loved this figural wood carving best of all. This is my iPhone photo.
Mansion in May trailer. Click here to view the video. The Elizabethan-styled Tudor castle was inspired by England's Compton Wynyates in Warwickshire.
Lynn and I have gone together to almost every designer showcase house to benefit Morristown Memorial Hospital since the very first one. Somehow there was one we missed and neither of us can remember why.
Read the history of Glynallyn, the Tudor Castle here. Try to go if you can! Parking lot with fabulous shuttle buses located at 44 Whippany Road.
This historic estate on 7.3 acres with 66 rooms, 15 bedrooms and 8 full baths is also for sale. The price is $5,700,000 for a gilded-age mansion, 32,000 square feet in size. My firm has the listing. Let me know if you have any interest. I'd love to show it to you.

i love the tudor era design.
i immediately think of knights and ladies and faeries and magical things. elixers of gold and morning mist that might hide a unicorn!
To live in someplace like that would be a dream come true. I could spend all day just in the porch area at that table.
Oh my. If it were reassessed anywhere close to asking the taxes would be over $100,000 per year if I'm reading it correctly. Just a tad out of my price range. :)
How beautiful the statue and the room your friend is sitting in. What a fun place to tour.

Beautiful Rosemary - what an era that was.
That tudor window is magnigicent!
However, it is not a castle for the faint hearted.
I would compare it to a racing yacht - you just keep poring money into it!!!
$NZ 7,500,000 - converted to New Zealand dollars!!!

I lived right next door to the "Batman House" in Pasadena; which was a "twin"!
One could not reproduce this house at any cost , today!
This is a bargain! (if you can afford it.......and you can use it!)
It is a lovely house.......so "of the period"
I do hope a family with lots of kids buys it! What fun to grow up there!!
What an amazing piece of architecture! A little bit of Old England right here in America. Just lovely.
best,
