Waiting for the parade to go by! I know it's a catalog photo but it's perfect for this Memorial Day porch picnic with watermelon. I love the painted flag from Pottery Barn.
I love watermelon but the cheapest here is 4.99 for one of the tiny ones about the size of a cantaloupe. So I bought a large cantaloupe for $2 instead. Along with a roasted chicken and some potato salad and cole slaw on sale and some garlic bread. No cooking for me this weekend. A nice treat since it is just me and cats.
We got home two days ago from our annual family Memorial Day/weekend at Bethany Beach, DE. We had the best weather we've ever had at this time of the year. This picture reminded me that it's time to put out the bunting and the rest of the red, white and blue decor.
Pottery Barn as really great stylists. I too love the flag and I have that exact light hanging over my kitchen island.

It's okay by me that it's a catalog image...Pottery Barn does a pretty good job with their stylizing. It speaks to the holiday very well.
