Hi Rosemary...I just wanted to stop by and say hello. I've been enjoying your blog for awhile now but hadn't taken the time toleave a comment and tell you that I enjoy your photo's, thoughts and of course your stories of Webster.
I actually started giving my dog Molly, sweet potato after hearing about Webster enjoying it so much. Molly had to go on a diet and our vet said to cut down on the kibble and add veggies so sweet potato it is! If Molly could write and thank you herself, I know she would! Peonies have long been one of my favourite flowers and these are just gorgeous.
I hope that you are enjoying your weekend. These peonies from your friend are so beautiful. I wish I had some in my neck of the woods. I will have to try to florist.
Have a wonderful day, I am off to download dandelion cottage, thanks for the tip.
I've been perusing info on edible plants not normally thought of as food. Peonies are edible! "Originally from China they were and still are used for medicine. Petals can be added to salads or will happily float in drinks. Another option is to parboil them, add a little sugar, and use them as a sweet treat."
I cannot believe yours are blooming. MIne are still tight little buds. Upstate New York must be quite a bit cooler than New Jersey.
By the by, my sister-in-law also feeds both her Springers sweet potatoes with their regular food and they love it. She even mixes in potato water with their kibble.
You have the nicest friends. How generous of this particular friend to share some of her gorgeous peonies. They are a perfect gift in my opinion.
We have been enjoying some much needed rain today. In fact the past few days the weather has been perfection just like your peonies. I wish it could be like this all summer long unfortunately we soon will be wilting.

They are gorgeous, my Grandmother had them in your yard in Tennessee, sadly they will not grow here.

I love peonies, but alas, I have to buy them. We don't get cold enough to grow them.
So pretty.
