Sighting of Foxes at My Cottage

The one that was lying down in the first photo stayed behind and let me get pretty close with my Nikon and its telephoto lens. Luckily Webster didn't know what I was up to since he was on the bed taking a nap. He can't stand for them to set one foot on 'his' property. He's very territorial.

oh they are gorgeous!
how wonderful to live so close to woods and nature.
even if you have to sneak some shots past landlord webster! lol.

That would be a bit too close for my little Jack Russell. Her hunting instincts would kick in and it wouldn't be pretty.

Ohmigosh! Had no idea you had foxes anywhere near your home, never mind your state. That is just incredible! They look in good health and quite pleased to be there. :D

Wow...isn't nature awesome?

The other day my mother and I saw a cat in the woods behind our house...but it was a mystery cat. It was big had a long tail like a cougar...and not even lynx have tails like that. It got away before we could get a good look at him.

There aren't supposed to be cougars around here but I have to wonder!

I think foxes are so darling...loved the image of the fox sniffing a flower you posted. Anyway, the foxes in your area aren't aggressive predators? We have coyotes that will jump fences to eat cats and small dogs. Not so darling.

Rosemary! How could I have missed this awesome post! The foxes look so healthy. What a treat for you! I bet they've got a den nearby and you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the kits in summertime. Keep that camera at the ready! xo
