Remember when I painted my picket fence two years ago? The finials didn't hold up too well as you can see. I am starting a list of the things that need attention outside. The list will be long too. You can only hide your head in the sand for so long before reality takes hold.

I have painting my picket fence on my list too! A fresh coat of paint does miracles!
I know what you mean, my outside list is so long I'm afraid to go outside LOL!

I was thinking about those list this morning, which I suppose means it's almost spring.
Some people, vintage lovers, would pay for that look, only time can do that properly!

What a beautiful finials though!
I rather like the chippy paint look but, wood needs a good coat of paint to keep well enough outside. Love the fence.
The biggest hurdle isn't the painting, it's the dreaded sanding and primer. Makes my arms ache just looking at it.
oh! a list...good idea! i see a few things here that need done too. also the picture is a great reminder.
I've got a few outdoor painting projects to do as well.
I'm thinking of hiring someone to help with mine as its mostly raking and trimming and my back won't handle very much of it.
There are times when I wish I were a renter and not an owner. I've reached a point in life were I don't want to do or be responsible for the upkeep...is that awful?
It is a really great finial.
Rosemary,
My white wood fence is in need of paint and even a little patch work. I hope to take advantage of the burst of energy I usually get upon spring's arrival.

Your fence looks very nice on the whole, though! My husband and boys built our fence last summer. And this spring we get to paint it- white!
