A Royal Nap

Are you smiling yet? I can't tell you how much I love this photo of 'The 11th Duke of Devonshire taking a nap in the Lower Library of Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, circa 1995' Shot by Christopher Sykes. I love peeking into the private lives of English Royalty.  via

I love this! I too love to look into the lives of English royalty. Christopher Sykes is a fabulous photographer and a very nice man, I stayed the weekend at friends country house in France and he was there too!

Have a great week. Hope your over your illness.

That room; and that house, where the Duke is napping; is my favorite room ; and probably favorite house in the world when they lived in it!

Her chickens, the whole comfy and unpretentious feel of it....

This picture captures everything I love about it! The newspapers strewn about....

As Tara says......"No styling"!! YESSS!!!

Actually, the one that made me smile was the awesome library. It's heaven for a bookworm like me :)

I don't think I could nap in this amazing room, it's too stimulating and interesting. I suppose the Duke had many years to explore everything in his library so a snooze was no problem for him.

Lucky Elizabeth, (above) experiencing a country house weekend in France with the added bonus of Sykes as one of the guests.
