Am enjoying all of your peaceful, beautiful posts more than ever now that I'm living in a high rise in the middle of Seoul! Your post today about the thick walls reminded me of one of my favorite blogs, 'Welsh Hills Again' which is written by a woman who lives in a home in Wales in gorgeous countryside and who posts delectable photos of both her gardens and many others. She is renovating her kitchen right now and posted some of the 'before' photos - including very thick walls with deep windowsills...which this post made me think of. I think you'd love her blog...she has the same gift that you do of choosing photos that will transport the viewer to a lovely, peaceful place! http://welshhillsagain.blogspot.com/2011/07/fluid-and-elastic-time.html

My DREAM home. Rustically beautiful.
What a fantastic room. I hope it has a fireplace!

Rosemary,
I would love to live in a stone cottage. I would settle for a stone wall!
