My goodness, this flower really caught the eyes of your many readers I read all their comments and am left wondering, "what is this flower?" One thing I do know, it has been photographed beautifully as that is one fabulous photo.
This is known as Brugmansia or the Angels Trumpet. It's in the Datura family, but isn't Datura. It's not Moonflower, either.I have 5 of them. The flowers will grow quite large when you feed them and they're water hogs. They're night blooming flowers and are pollinated by moths. The smell is heavenly, however all parts of the plant are poison. It's in the Nightshade family, Solanaceae. It's my favorite plant!

I believe this is a trumpet flower. We've got them here on the island, too. Very beautiful. They come in different colors.
By the way, the trumpet flower in your photo is opened as much as it will get. They don't open very much. :)

I grow the smaller version...the Datura...
Absolutely beautiful flowers...but the seed pods are very poisonous..
