I have all of these ingredients in my pantry and you probably do too. Will you be eating Queen Elizabeth Drop Scones while you watch the wedding tomorrow? They sound fabulous.
In 1960, Queen Elizabeth II sent President Dwight D. Eisenhower her recipe for Drop Scones which she had promised to give to him when he’d visited her at Balmoral Castle. Eisenhower was an avid cook.
Elizabeth II doesn’t seem like a likely cook, but she was an auto mechanic during World War II. She could probably stir up a batch of scones, if called upon in the line of duty.*

Rosemary,
I love scones, I'll have to give these a try.
Thanks,
Karen
HI Rosemary!
I love this posting! I still have time to run out and get the ingredients, so won't have to come over to borrow sugar later :) Too fun - I liked so much I've posted you at my blog just now. You may want to visit nextdoor at my cottage to see the spoof wedding video I found this morning. SO wicked funny!
Have a wonderful night! don't forget to wear your hat, and make cucumber sandwiches!

I read recently Tony Blair said she's really a much more down to earth person than people realize. She invited him to her home several times for dinner and she did the cooking.

How wonderful! ;^) I love the personal touch.
I made Orange/Apricot scones and sipped them with my tea, as I watched the wedding. It was glorious! ;^)
