Blue Bird House

All of my bird houses have all been vacated. The bluebirds usually come back in February to stake out their territory. Pretty soon it will be time for the migrating birds to fly south for the winter and time to hang the bird feeders for those that stay.

I love bluebirds! we used to have them when we first built our house!

I would sit at our long table....outside and they would take mealworms from my hand!

Once my daughter arrived to find me there; she said....."OMIGOD: Mommy!! You are 'Snow White"!!"

Kinda looked like it!

Now we have a covey of more than 36 California Quail and no more bluebirds....they like lawn!! We have cover.....and so many kinds of birds.....but no more bluebirds! Other species use their houses!!

Penelope....
I think it's so wonderful that your daughter called you Snow White. Bluebirds are very picky and they will leave if the sparse vegetation setting they prefer disappears.
Happy New Year.
