Out of Control Book Collecting

A remodel for the books -- A St. Louis Park bibliophile and his wife bought the house next door to tear it down and expand their own. Instead, they kept both houses, joined the two structures and turned an entire house into a library. Read entire article here. It's a really great story about saving a house too. I love reading about book collectors, don't you?

I have to show this article to my husband. All I want is one little room for my books.....that will seem like nothing to a whole house!

I would love to have seen a picture of the front of this house after the renovation and what a lovely renovation it is. Just today my sister posted on facebook that you CAN have too many books, obviously Louis doesn't think so. I love this sentence from the article, "To reduce the scale, Hansen simply set the center atrium about 8 inches below the rooflines of the houses, like a little vaulted cottage wedged between two older siblings." Just think Rosemary, you could live right in the middle of this house because it's just a little vaulted cottage.

WOW! This is certainly up MY alley! In our current home, I was happy to convert the living room to a library to increase the already-existing family room bookshelf space for my extensive book collection! Cassandra ♥
