I was just thinking about them the other day. I have a place in my garden that I usually plant sunflowers, but I thought next year I would plant Holly Hocks, I remember having them as a child and I had forgotten about them. Thanks for the pictures, I will do that.
I adore Hollyhocks. My mother grew them in her garden along with poppies. My sisters and I use to pinch off Hollyhock flowers and make them into dancing dolls. They don't grow very well here in Virginia due to humidity, heat and clay soil.
I adore Hollyhocks! They're such an old fashioned flower. Makes me think of a white picket fences and victory gardens. Thanks for the beautiful photos. Susan

I had scads of them, so thick I finally just pulled most of them up, as they were taking over the whole garden! I do love them, tho.
