Nope, I have never been, either. I would love to be able to go one dasy, though. The old church ruin looks as if it is covered in alfalfa sprouts!(I happen to be sprouting some in my sprouter)
Ireland is a beautiful place! I've been there twice, and understand well why they call her The Emerald Isle. A greener place would be hard to find.
On my first trip there I rented a bicycle and rode around the countryside in southern Ireland (north of Cork) for the good part of a day, searching high and low for the ruins of the castle where the English poet Edmund Spenser had once lived (with Walter Raleigh as his neighbor). I never found that old castle, but I did see a number of old church ruins similar to the ones in the picture you share here. Thank you for reminding me of that fun day in the south Irish countryside!
I love the old ruins like this. I got to go to England many moons ago and toured some ancient abbeys. The sense of history was palpable in the air! I could almost hear the chanting of the monks!
I have not been to Ireland...would love to go. My great-grandfather was from Tipperary.
I can't imagine riding a bicycle around Ireland looking for tidbits of history on Spenser and the like!!! What fun! ;^) ;^) ;^)

Hi Rosemary,
