I found this broken bird's egg on my early evening walk with Webster last night. I photographed it against the end papers of a book illustrated with feathers and eggs. I'm glad it wasn't a blue robin's egg. It was out in the middle of an open field with no trees nearby. How did it get there? Did a bigger bird rob the nest? Boo Hoo. Have a nice Easter.

What a lovely idea, to use the book's page as a background to the broken egg.
I once had a small collection of found robin's eggs in a real bird nest(found blown into the grass) and after a visit from my then 2 year old nephew, I discovered they were all crushed. I didn't think to move that to a higher shelf.
