I always look for old interesting watering cans at tag sales. I've had this one for years. The stool was built by the original owner of my cottage. He lived to be 100. I am the second owner. I use this primitive step stool all the time when I need a boost. There is an oval cutout in the top that makes it easy to grab and carry. It's built like a battleship and should last for at least another 100 years.

Rosemary, what a wonderful "portrait".....old things are so wonderful. My husband and I go twice a year on antiquing jaunts-such a wonderful time!
I hope YOU make it to 100 too!
Have a wonderful day...I'm heading out to the garden to scratch in the dirt.
Rosemary, MOTH will love this post. He found an old galvanised iron WC at a yard sale recently & it was like he'd found a diamond mine! He's always cussing & cursing about how useless the plastic ones are. The primitive stool would have so many stories to tell.
Millie ^_^
Morning,
I happened along to your blog yesterday.
I love quotes, gardening, reading, childrens books, art shows, long walks, genealogy, hammocks, humor, home, and more. Most especially I love our four grandkids and their Moms and Dads. I still like to hang out with my sweet hubby.
I have one or two old metal egg baskets that we found somewhere on our farm. The former owners raised eggs here at one time. Your watering can has the same feel.
Rosemary, the simplicity of this picture is what makes it so appealing. I love it!
that is wonderful....
I love old watering cans, too. Something timeless about them.
I think that you should push on past the tradition of 100!
:^)
Fantastic photo, Rosemary. So much beauty can be found in much-used, utilitarian objects, don't you think? (Well, of course, you do. I guess that was a rhetorical question!)
Simply beautiful!
