I can't remember the last time I used my gas dryer. I absolutely love the way clothes smell when they've been outdoors -- so nice and fresh. This was my first winter with a clothes line. I wondered if I would break down and resort to modern conveniences. So far, so good. I am pretty determined to continue my pioneer ways.

Laundry drying in my kitchen . . .
I did a load of wash yesterday and hung it outside on the line. It was still very damp when I brought it inside and threw it hurriedly on my antique wooden rack. There is a big cast iron radiator directly behind the dutch door to quickly finish the job. All the small items are hanging on a folding floor rack.

I absolutely love that grandfather clock!
Please tell me it works and it isn't just ornamental.
Your home is lovely! I love the smell of line dryed laundry.
Don't you love sheets that have dried on the clothes line?
I knew your home would be incredible!! Anyone who lists her occupation as "independent woman" is bound to have a great place. What wonderful photos Rosemary!!
Too gorgeous Rosemary! Whenever I do this at our house it has none of the elegance of your laundry drying, rather our living room assumes the look of a Chinese Laundry in a dodgey part of downtown.
Millie ^_^
This photo should be on the cover of Country Living Magazine.
I only like white linens, as you have! No polka dot bloomers on the line!
Oh I wish I could quit using mine. I'm sure that's why my electric bill is sky high.
I remember a picture of you hanging laundry inside last year sometime. I didn't know you actually do it all the time! A house I used to have in the late 80's didn't have a dryer and I was ok with it but my two roomies (brother and another guy) hated it! Oh well! Can I move in with you? Oh, but I come with a husband and cat. Is that a problem?
I can smell all the good smells that must be in your home, just by looking at that photo.
I am too lazy to hang out my wash in winter(my mother still does, though, and she has rheumatoid athritis), sad to say.
