Bookshelves Quote by Anna Quindlen . . .

ANNA QUINDLEN is the author of five bestselling novels (Rise and Shine, Blessings, Object Lessons, One True Thing, Black and Blue), and six nonfiction books (Being Perfect, Loud & Clear, A Short Guide to a Happy Life, Living Out Loud, Thinking Out Loud, How Reading Changed My Life). She has also written two children's books (The Tree That Came to Stay, Happily Ever After). Her New York Times column "Public and Private" won the Pulitzer Prize in 1992. Her column now appears every other week in Newsweek.
I hope her children didn't disappoint her with their decorating!

Amazing Built-in Bookcase

These people were so smart to put in a bookcase instead of a raised panel. It's perfect for their larger antiquarian books. It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes.

"I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves. Anna Quindlen"

These homeowners managed to do both!!! photo source

Cottage for Sale, Must be Moved | Currently Reading

[Click either photo to enlarge]

Sometimes I think I definitely have a fairy god mother who puts books I might like in the free book bin at the Post Office. I actually pounced on this one like a hen on a June bug as they say in the south. I just started it and love it already. Perfect reading for a hot almost summer day. It is sizzling outside at 92 degrees. I have a fan blowing directly at my face so I'm fine.

Have a Restful Weekend

This looks like an ideal place to wile away the weekend with a good book. I just finished Every Last One by Anna Quindlen and loved it. In a nutshell - it's a novel about facing every last one of the things we fear the most, about finding ways to navigate a road we never intended to travel. photo credit

Hallway Bookshelves, Nice!

I designed this quote long ago. I think Anna Quindlen would be most pleased if her children had bookshelves like the photo above.
