Terrific Kitchen

I've never seen upper cabinets and drawers flanking a sink that open like this. They look great but you would constantly be moving things in order to use them. To use the drawer to the left, you would have to move the basket. I love the look anyway, so I'll take it! via I wonder how you open those windows?

Yes, I see what you mean and agree. For me, the basket, pleasing as it is, would need to go. I need elbow room. Could this have something to do with being clumsy?
But, I surely would love to step into that space - even wash up a few dishes.
Happy day, dear Rosemary

Could it be that the cabinet doors next to the countertop have a fake front with knob? Very impractical if they actually open.

Hi! R.,

You're right! I've already noticed that some designers create kitchens to cook and other... kitchens to look... ha ha!

Although I don't comment very often, every single day I enter your blog to delight in the images and texts that generously you give us daily.

Best regards,
A.

Alette...

I've never heard about those kitchen designs but love the language. I prefer a kitchen to cook over a kitchen to look.

JudyMac....

I think these cabinets are real -- nice to look at but very impractical in reality.

I didn't mean to imply that all doors at either end of the countertop were fake ..... just the small door (looks about 12 inches tall) that would seemingly open right onto the countertop. I think the upper ones could be handy for glassware and such. :-)

JudyMac...

Maybe the lower ones I thought were drawers are fake. Otherwise they would be pretty useless and annoying. They do look nice though.

Have a great weekend.

The drawers to the right of the sink are "dishwasher drawers"; the one to the left is, I think, a "slide out trash basket"
Oh! I'm talking about the "lower drawers"!

You are talking about the upper drawers! They make no sense whatsoever! And some "stylist" puts stuff in the way of having things work!

SHEESH!!!

Thank you!

Who on earth needs "fake drawers"??

Dreadful!!

I think the drawers are real and useful when the kitchen isn't being "styled." You can't do dishes either or use a cutting board etc etc with the decorations there.

I think what they've done with the ceiling is interesting. If you notice above the sink is the ceiling's sprinkler system. I like that they still were able to create a planked ceiling despite having the zoning issues (moving sprinklers would be very expensive).
