Orphaned hedgehogs adopt cleaning brush as their mother . . .

Four tiny orphaned hedgehogs are snuggling up to the bristles of this cleaning brush - because they think it's their mother.

Daft as a brush: Infant hedgehogs cozy up to their adoptive brush mother.

Playtime: The baby hedgehogs enjoy themselves with their pretend mother.

This is one of the most heartwarming stories I've read in a long time. A true story much like a beloved Beatrix Potter tale and of course it takes place in the English countryside. The smells on the brush, which is used to sweep a yard, remind the hedgehogs of their natural habitat while the texture reminds them of their mother.

Thanks for stopping by the cottage for your daily dose of inspiration. Don't you absolutely love this story? Enjoy your Sunday. ♥Rosemary

Photos from around the cottage . . .

Webster follows this fan wherever it goes.

Cleomes are exploding everywhere.

I only have a few Queen Anne's Lace wildflowers.

Wild grapes are ripening nicely. Delicious.

My thistles are beginning to bloom.

I took all of these photos yesterday morning. Things have changed drastically thanks to the afternoon and overnight rains. The heat wave has now broken and we are all very happy about that! Thanks for stopping by the cottage for a short visit. Have a good weekend. ♥Rosemary

Hermès Kelly Bag | Origami Paper Craft | FREE DOWNLOAD . . .

The Kelly bag is so named after the actress Grace Kelly, when in 1956, the then Princess of Monaco used one of her two favorite Hermès bags to shield her pregnancy from the paparazzi.

A closer look at today's version with 2 handles in green.

Two paper purses ~ handpainted.

Plain white paper Kelly bag.

Make this Hermès Kelly Bag from two sheets of card stock. Use it as a gift bag for a small present for a special friend. Personalize it any way you want. Paint it, print it on colored stock, or add your own custom elements. Let your creativity go wild.

This craft project is not for the faint of heart. It looks pretty intricate and I have not actually tried to make this bag. Maybe you should use plain old inkjet paper for your first one because that would be much easier to fold.

Anyway, here it is. DOWNLOAD HERE!
Note: This is no longer available on the Hermès site, but luckily I found someone who saved it to their site. Updated 12/09/2020

The Hermès Website is very cool. You could spend hours checking everything out. Enjoy!

These origami Kelly bags would be fabulous place cards for your holiday table or fancy dinner party with a small gift inside for each female guest.

Thanks for stopping by the cottage today. This post is a classic reBlog brought back by popular demand. Have fun crafting your Kelly bag. ♥Rosemary

Ancient animal ancestors: historical portraits of cats and dogs

See more animal portraiture in this wonderful slideshow at The UK Telegraph. I should try one of these with Webster. He is royalty in my book.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by the cottage to see what I am up to on this fine summer day. ♥Rosemary
