The forced perspective in the architectural trellis work on the mansion fools the eye into thinking there is depth on a flat wall. Are there any workmen that can create these masterpieces today? I've always admired this artistic workmanship. The photo was scanned from one of my home landscaping books. Have a great weekend.

This thought-provoking mockumentary is narrated by Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons as he follows the journey of a single plastic bag on a California street all the way to the Pacific Ocean's plastic dump.

"I hated Hollywood. It’s a town without pity. Only success counts. I know of no other place in the world where so many people suffer from nervous breakdowns, where there are so many alcoholics, neurotics and so much unhappiness. —Grace Kelly"
I think I'll bed down here tonight with a big roaring fire. We're having damp chilly weather here at the cottage and this room looks nice and cozy for Webster and me. It would be a nice room to wake up there just tomorrow morning to start the weekend. Have a good one.

This is wonderful. I am so glad Nancy Allen's signed dollhouse survived in such good shape. If only those walls could talk. Massive size: 47" high x 5'6" wide. Image found on 1stdibs but was sold.
Isn't this a great photo of a wild hare? I guess they are burrowing in their warrens until spring. I'm not sure what the second long-eared animal will be doing except making us laugh.

I could rest peacefully on a bed of nails tonight and be comfortable I'm so tuckered out. Major tasks accomplished around the cottage and I'm so happy to be able to check so many things off my "to do" list.
This bedroom is fabulous, isn't it? I love it all; the storage underneath and the recessed shelves above instead of a headboard. I love white linens too having just put a white duvet cover on my white down comforter yesterday. The reading lamps are perfect. via

I've always liked the fall and winter landscape too for this very reason. Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009), Pennsylvania Landscape 1942, Tempra 35" x 47" Click photo to enlarge.

Where were these ugly vultures on Halloween? There have been three sunning themselves in a tree near my studio window but I could only get a good shot of two of them. I just got back from walking Webster following his afternoon feeding. I looked for a dead carcass but couldn't find anything they might have been feeding on so I have to assume they were just enjoying the sun on this cloudless chilly day.

I would expect to see a dog on a leash . . . not a sheep. These two look perfectly content curled up with one another, don't they? Pretty Serendipities II
