Fragment of a Floor Mosaic circa 500–550. The rod that she holds, the measuring tool for the Roman foot, identifies her as a personification of the abstract concept of "Ktisis," or Foundation. How suitable for a floor.
An amazing photograph of Hatley Castle in Colwood, Greater Victoria, British Columbia. Too beautiful for words. [Hatley Park National Historic Site]

These interior windows are wonderful too.
Abandoned windows. I could never walk away from these, could you?
Curved window alcove with ice crystals on the glass. Nice shutters and fabulous carved millwork. I'd love to have some frozen windows to photograph today. These would be perfect.
I've always liked windows that opened awning style. Love the vines too.
