There is still plenty of time left in the day to try and get everything done all by yourself so you can have a great weekend.

Antique Milk Glass Hen on a Nest
This is a miniature Hen on a Nest that sits on my windowsill over the sink. Did you know that genuine milk glass has an orange peel color when you hold it up to the light? The sun was shining through this piece when I took the photograph.

Great Food Themed Posters of the Great War
I copied a few posters from The U.S. Food Administration to illustrate some of the "Great Posters of the Great War" Click on the link if you are interested in the title, artist, date, etc. I think they are still very timely even though they are almost 100 years old, don't you?
Greetings from Webster
Can you tell that the Wonder Dog is feeling better by his expression of total contentment while lounging on my bed this morning? I love the way he arranges the pillows just the way he wants them before settling in. He has one more week of pills to make sure whatever he had is gone forever. The fur is starting to grow back on the top of his paw and he really is acting like his old self again. I'm thrilled as you can well imagine. He send his best regards to his fan club.
Button Hearts
Button Hearts This is a pretty hanging Valentine heart beautifully crafted using mother of pearl buttons strung with wire. Why not go to your button drawer and see if you have enough of your own to make one of these yourself. Let me know if you do. Sometimes I buy garments at rummage and garage sales just for the buttons.

Nice Garage Barn Outbuilding
I thought this was Garage/Barn/Outbuilding that anyone would be pleased to own. I've never been a fan of attached garages. What about you? Via
English Cottage-Land

Illustrated Quote from Winnie the Pooh
A family photo album including a picture of Pooh author AA Milne's son Christopher Robin when he was 6 years old fetched £3,500 at auction in 2004.
“If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart -- I'll always be with you.” Christopher Robin to Winnie the PoohPoster available here.

Antique Dog Head Stirrup Cup
A stirrup cup is a "parting cup" given to guests, especially when they are leaving on horseback and have their feet in the stirrups. It is also the traditional drink (usually port or sherry) served at the meet, prior to a traditional foxhunt. The term can describe the cup that such a drink is served in.
The wonderful English hound-head cup circa 1820 pictured in the first photo is available here. Do want!
Blue Skies from My Window Today
The thermometer is dropping like a rock and the winds are howling. I can't complain because we've had a few warm days to melt a lot of the snow and ice in the gutters and all of my icicles have disappeared. Have you ever seen a more beautiful blue sky? I actually removed the screen from my bathroom window to snap this photo just a few minutes ago. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you that I've seen bluebirds flying around too but couldn't grab my camera fast enough.

Jane Austen's Thoughts About Home
I feel the same way about staying at home. It's the only place of real comfort. Some days I can hardly blast my self away. Tea towel from this Etsy shop. I'm off to my weekly office meeting---I'll be back later.

Interior Sliding Door Hides Pantry
Here is another recycled door hung barn style in a kitchen to hide the pantry and wine cooler. I might use something in this condition in the basement, loft over the garage or the attic but it would have to look spiffier and cleaner for me to use it in such a nice kitchen. How about you?
See my other posts on this on-going subject.
Where Are My Ears?
I love photos of English Red Squirrels--especially this one. The poor little guy on top couldn't squeeze his ears through the mouse hole. Adorable!
Extinct = Gone Forever
You will see a few of the tens of thousands of species that scientists say have gone extinct or become critically endangered over the past 30 years. Please try to read the accompanying article by Richard Conniff in The New York Times entitled Specimens: Lost and Gone Forever. The discovery that species could become extinct shook the 19th century view of the world, and it should continue to trouble us today.
A "must read" for any lover of natural history.
