Wallpaper Cookies | Too Pretty To Eat

These iced shortbread Cookies patterned after an Osborn & Little wallpaper look too pretty to eat, don't they? Order online from Miette in San Francisco. This very wallpaper decorates their shop. What a great gift for an interior designer. Click around their site and be sure to look at the photo gallery and swoon over the other amazingly beautiful baked confections they offer via mail order. I'm impressed, aren't you? Now I'm hungry and think it's time to cook my breakfast. If I were in SF I'd go there in person and eat something delicious. Have a great weekend, Rosemary.

Hermes Window Displays In Milan

Hermes Paper Window Displays
Milan, Italy ~ Via della Spiga is considered to be one of the best locations for shopping and elegance in the world. This busy Milan street is lined with Victorian architecture filled with posh boutiques and cafes. The Hermes windows are attracting a lot of attention right now. Their fantasy displays are inspired by fables and fairy tales with a series of intricate and colorful 3-D paper animals coming out of gilded frames from a background of black and white storybook illustrations! Click on the link to see all of the windows. I love the Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland the best.

Liking These Eyeglass Frames A Lot!

Lemtosh | Retro Glasses

Timothy | Designer Glasses

Dannee | Designer Glasses

Lemtosh | Vintage Sunglasses

I am getting closer and closer to finding my dream eyeglass frames. What I really need is to try these on in person. Most have the decorative rivets I like on the outside of the frames. Which shape do you like best? They are expensive but I like them all, each for a different reason. I really need to see the sidepieces too. Not too thick and not too thin is what I want. Decisions, decisions.

Candle With An Old Books Scent

A friend gave me one of these candles this week for my Unbirthday (there was no other occasion). She always knows what I might like and she's always right. This one is called Ex Libris with the scent of Old Books; antiquated leather-bound volumes of handmade papers and parchment permeate and seduce the senses. The packaging is wonderful...too pretty to open. From Modern Alchemy. Thanks, Jill. I love it.

Valentine's Day Paperweight

Isn't this decoupaged glass paperweight the best desk accessory you've seen lately? Wouldn't it be great to give or receive as a Valentine present? Two days away and counting until February 14th (Valentine's Day). Available here. Actually, I think it's the perfect gift for any occasion.

You still have time to make one. I'm pretty sure they have the paperweight blanks at Michaels. Get out your Mod Podge and decoupage away. How-To instructions here.

World's Most Expensive Perfume | Clive Christian

Clive Christian Imperial Majesty Perfume
This limited edition scent is an exquisite fusion of rare and precious natural ingredients.

Imperial Majesty is a limited edition of a Clive Christian signature scent. Sold simply as No. 1, the fragrance is priced at $2,150 an ounce. But the reason Imperial Majesty costs so much is that Christian, a British designer-turned-perfumer, poured 16.9 ounces of No. 1 into a Baccarat crystal bottle and set a five-carat diamond into the 18-carat gold collar.

I did the math. Seems as if the final cost is $36,335. Wonder what it smells like? Let me know if your sweetie gives you a bottle on Valentine's Day.

I personally would rather have this Clive Christian kitchen I saw on tour last year. What about you?

Wool and Cashmere Avalon Blanket from Hermès. So lovely. My maiden initial is H. Size 55"x69". Drumroll .... price $1,125.00 USD

On second thought, it's too good for Webster the wonder dog. We share all blankets. Sigh. You, however, still have time to order one for your Valentine. ♥

Black Friday Illustrated Quote

I'm celebrating Buy Nothing Day today. Buy Nothing Day is your special day to unshop, unspend and unwind. Relax and do nothing for the economy and for yourself - at least for a single day. After such a busy day yesterday, the day after Thanksgiving is a perfect do nothing day, especially since the refrigerator is full of leftovers and I don't have to cook. I created the image with the holly for the inside of my 2007 Christmas card. Enjoy your Friday whatever you choose to do. Thanks for stopping by the cottage. Rosemary
