I See The Moon

Don't forget to look at the moon before you go to bed tonight. This very moon was in the sky outside my bedroom window last night but I can never get my photos to look like this. It was the first night of the full moon and it was orange like a harvest moon too. I've had a great day so far today...hope you have too.

Man in the Moon | Goodnight

I've always been fascinated by the man in the moon, haven't you? This one is wonderful for my last post of the day. It's not dark yet and it was a great Sunday spent puttering around doing fun things that made me happy. xo

Super Perigee Moon - Washington, DC

In this photo provided by NASA, the full moon is seen as it rises near the Lincoln Memorial, Saturday, March 19, 2011 in Washington. The full moon is called a "Super Perigee Moon" since it's at its closest to Earth in 2011. The last full moon so big and close to Earth occurred in March of 1993.

Lunar Eclipse Overnight Tonight

North America and the western portion of South America will be treated to a rare total lunar eclipse in the early morning hours of December 21. I will look out the window if I wake up in the wee small hours of the morning because the moon might look like this. It is coinciding with the December 21st Winter Solstice or the first day of winter or my dear departed brother's birthday.

If you want an astronomer's description of what will be happening click here.

Country Girl from Maryland posted a great simple slideshow animation for the layman; it only lasts a few seconds. Watch it and you'll understand what is going to happen perfectly.

I just got back from walking Webster and it's as clear as a bell here in New Jersey. It is going to be spectacular. I heard a man on TV telling everyone to look for Orion's belt near the moon. I loved finding the constellations when I was a kid. Let me know if you stay up and watch it.

Good Night Moon

Time to turn off the computer and see if there's anything to watch on Sunday night TV. See you in the morning. Sleep tight. It always takes me a few days to get used to the new time. So far, I'm not a fan of this early darkness. It makes me sleepy way too early.

I took this photo from my second floor balcony looking to the back of my property one moonlit night.

Full Moon On The Last Evening Of February

This photo of the full moon was taken last night before I turned off the lights for some prime time TV watching. Masterpiece [39 Steps] on PBS was excellent. Look for a repeat sometime during the week in case you missed it.

Goodnight Moon | Outside My Kitchen Window

Go outside and look at the moon. This is the night sky outside my kitchen window taken just a few minutes ago. It is very beautiful. Goodnight moon.
