Amazing Library Staircase and Balcony Surrounds

Round and round I go. Where I'll stop, nobody knows. Those pierced metal stairs look pretty tricky so I'll hold tight to the handrail. I have no idea where this library is located, but it's pretty amazing, isn't it? UPDATE: A reader identified this as the Law Library at the State Library of Iowa at the Des Moines, Iowa Capitol Building. Thank you!

From The Hundred Acre Wood To Midtown – Winnie The Pooh at The New York Public Library

From The Hundred Acre Wood To Midtown – Winnie The Pooh Exhibit in New York Somehow it never occurred to me that the characters in Winnie The Pooh were real [stuffed] animals. They are in New York now. Have you seen them in their own little room?

The original Piglet

The original Tigger

All of the Original Pooh Characters Together At Last in New York City in their permanent home at The New York Public Library. These are the very animals Christopher once played with in Ashdown Forest (inspiration for the Hundred Acre Wood), patches, rips, dirt, and all. Some characters, like Rabbit and Owl, were made up for the stories, while little Roo was lost long ago. Read more.

Book Dominos - Ireland's Library Association

This is really wonderful. Sit back and watch the books fall domino style. Here is the link in case you can't see my embedded video. Watch here. I went to the library at the end of the day yesterday and loaded up on books on tape for my mom who has macular degeneration and is legally blind. My favorite and most valued card in my wallet is my library card. I could live without a credit card but not my library card. Really!!!

1949 Chevy Bookmobile Survivor

I can't even tell you how much I love this old bookmobile from the Anderson, SC Library. It was in continuous service until 1991. Found on A Pretty Book. View complete history of this traveling library here: Bookmobile Survivor The only thing that could possibly bring more joy would be an ice cream truck.

Library at Château de Groussay in France

{Click photo to enlarge}
The private library or bibliothéque of the Château de Groussay located in Montfort-l'Amaury, France. The Château was built in 1815 by the duchesse de Charest, a daughter of Louise Elisabeth de Croÿ-Havré, marquise de Tourzel, the governess of the royal enfants de France of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.

The desk is especially wonderful, isn't it? I'd love to have a similar one with a much deeper horizontal working surface so I could pile up more books.

Spectacular Library in Dublin

This is a wonderful sight, isn't it? I'm not sure whether it's a library or a bookstore and the location is a mystery. I could never climb that high on a ladder. Heights are just about the only thing I'm afraid of.

A reader just advised me this is the Library at Trinity College in Dublin. Thanks so much!

W.P.A. Book Poster for March

In March Read the Books You've Always Meant To Read.
Sounds good to me. This poster, and others like it, was created under the sponsorship of the WPA's Federal Art Project in the late 1930s to promote libraries and literacy.

Rijksmuseum ~ Amsterdam, Netherlands

The Rijksmuseum Research Library in Amsterdam has the largest art history library in the Netherlands. It has maintained a constant, high-standard acquisition policy since 1885 and contains approximately 250,000 volumes. The Rijksmuseum also plays an important international role in making Dutch art history available and disseminating it. via

What a wonderful bookplate; I love images of children reading books. I wonder where The Children's Book Shop and Library is or was located?
