The technician will look at my car today and give me the news later. I'm fine at home today on a dreary day, far away from Hurricane Michael. Be safe if it's near you. I only watch BBC News America and they say the Gulf Coast and the Florida panhandle are in great danger from high winds and waves. All we can do is hope it is downgraded before hitting land and hope for a beautiful sunrise like this one soon.

Cat with a Sewing Project

I have been busy up in the attic sewing curtains for three windows and I have been enjoying myself immensely. This kitten sewing with a red hot needle made me laugh. Will post photos when I'm finished. I found four long panels of lined sewn curtains in a big blue and white checked fabric and I had remake them for my windows. They were double lined and will make my attic much warmer this winter. More later. xo

HAPPY JULY 4th 2018

Things are so much cooler since we had a torrential rain yesterday. You can see the mist coming back in the distance because the earth was hotter than the air.

The storm is over. The sun is out. My car is melting with no help from me. I am going to wait until the warmest part of the day to clean my walk and finish clearing the snow from my car. I am pleased we didn't get as much as was predicted, only about 4 inches. Not bad at all.

I shoveled out an escape route for my car today but I really don't want to go anywhere. My power came back on this morning and I was happy. See you tomorrow. xo

Garden Desserts

These edible garden desserts are so charming, aren't they? The sand on the bottom layer must be crushed shortbread or other white cookies, chocolate pudding for the middle, topped by crushed chocolate cookies. I spy Oreo cookies in the background. How fun! The mint sprouts with the garden markers complete the gardening theme with potting shed items scattered around.
