Feeling a Little Frazzled

I feel the way this cat looks. Did I bite off more than I could chew when I decided to wash all of my windows in one week? Next season I'm going to do a room a week instead of the whole house in one week.

Cats Love A Good Back Scratch

I've had a request for more cat posts. I scanned this photo from one of my books. I'm always open to suggestions from my readers.

Charles Dickens Loved Cats

I scanned the cat from one of my favorite antiquarian books The Royal Book of Crests. If the ears were a little less pointy and the belly were fatter it could be my Tabitha.

A Cat Named Pudding

This photo is wonderful, isn't it? I love a solid gray cat. These amber eyes are amazing and so expressive too. She looks pretty demanding I must say. Found on Flickr

Exotic Serval Kitten Adopted by Ridgeback Dogs

Shakira the Serval kitten finds puppy love in her adoptive home "Peeking out from among these puppies this tiny kitten may look a little out of her depth but in fact she is right at home. Shakira, the five month-old Serval cat, was welcomed into this unlikely clan after she was rejected by her mother from a local zoo near Munich, Germany." She's right at home with this pack of Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs.

I love stories like this with happy endings, don't you?

Charles Dickens Loved Cats

I scanned the image from my favorite book . . . The Royal Book of Crests. It seemed to be perfect for making this illustrated quote. Have a great weekend and give your cat some extra treats.

Taking The Cat To The Vet

You can't back out now. It's going to be all right.
Don't worry. I'll be there when she wakes up.

Day Is Done, Goodnight

This cat has the right idea. Take a nap whenever you can. I'm going to call it a day too. See you in the morning.

Peek-a-boo I see you. The sun is shining brightly and the sky is blue. Is it spring yet?

Royal Mail Goes To The Dogs (And Cats)

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s stamp of approval
A temporary truce was called yesterday when Royal Mail carriers helped celebrate the 150th anniversary of the world-famous Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. "Since 1860, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home has worked tirelessly to care for and re-home over three million dogs and cats, and the stamps are an excellent way to celebrate 150 years of dedicated care." The charity began life as the 'Temporary Home for Lost and Starving Dogs' in Holloway, north London in 1860. Eleven years later it moved to Battersea and in 1883 it started taking in cats.

All of the lucky models are ex-residents that have been successfully placed in loving homes. Once abandoned, they are now First Class pets. The photographs were taken over several days in London and Windsor by renowned animal photographer Steve Hoskins. Such a happy story. My dog Webster was adopted from an animal shelter. I wonder if the USPS would be interested in having him pose for a stamp?

Exhausted Last Night

This is how I felt last night when I fell into bed (without the kittens) after working outside all afternoon. I finished what I set out to do and didn't come in until 6:15 pm. The gravel is all back in the driveway too. Even if it snows again I will not have it plowed. What a job. I found some maverick snowdrops in the woods where I dump my weeding. I dug them up and started another bed right beside the front door. They are perky and happy this morning.

I was tired but managed to stay awake to watch a recorded movie ~ Captains Courageous with Spencer Tracy as a very young man. It was wonderful. It's cloudy and two rainstorms are coming my way so I have to clean out my trenches this morning. Have a great day, Rosemary.
