Attic Office

I love all the little drawers in this delightful attic studio/office. So clean and simple and efficient. Wish I could see more. via

JOCKUM NORDSTRÖM in his studio

I'm always interested in seeing any successful artist's studio/workshop. I love the art table in this one. Look at it closely -- I think this could become a DIY project. Photos from here. More information about Swedish artist Jockum Nordström here. I think he needs a few more horizontal surfaces, don't you?

You can never have too many drawers, can you? I love this bank of drawers at the end of a kitchen island so much better than the usual bookcase for cookbooks. This would be so much more useful. Everything else in the room is pretty wonderful too. via

What would you put in 24 drawers?

I love this look but I'm afraid they would all end up as junk drawers. You could alphabetize them with the last one being XYZ. via

I'm organizing EVERYTHING today

and this is what is going to happen to anything that gets in my way. Tabitha is hiding in her cat carrier (really) and Webster has a worried look on his face. How are you spending your Saturday? via

Lovely Office for Two

I really love this fabulous desk for two, especially all of the delicious cubbies. I've been organizing my upstairs (third floor) studio getting ready for our town's once yearly trash pickup and auction at the firehouse. Anyone who stops by is given something to take away. Good stuff too. How many laptop bags does one person need? I have at least 3 of every item that was ever produced. What I can't give away or donate goes to the curb at the end of September. via

Too Many Dishes -- I'll Wash, You Dry

I'm feeling so much better today after a day of industrial-strength cleaning, rearranging and organizing yesterday. I still have miles to go but my sense of order is feeling so much better. I like closed door cupboards, especially in my kitchen. Having all my possessions staring me in the face every time I stepped in there would make me feel uncomfortable. I'm craving the 'just moved in, haven't unpacked yet' look right now. What about you? -*-

Office with Lots of Bookshelves

If I were designing an office from scratch this might be the one. I can picture myself in this space paying bills, blogging, playing on the computer, addressing Christmas cards, listening to Christmas music and flipping through books. All of my favorite modern volumes on architecture and interior design could live there. My collection of antiquarian books with fine bindings would be in the library with a wood burning fireplace.

Have a fine day. See you later.

Animals Organizing A Small Space

When you are living in small underground quarters, it helps to have high ceilings. I could look at the charming illustrations in this book all day long. Since childhood, I've always imagined animals living like this.

Why Do We Love Our Desks So Much?

How do creative people set up their desks? Aaron Trinder visited several offices to find out. Some are messy, some are fastidious. This is a very interesting short film about the desks of several famous people.

My desk is rather like Einstein's.

Beautiful Closet Doors

I love the addition of louvers on these closet doors. They would be great in a mudroom so each family member could have a vented "locker" to hide their mess.

Orange Office

This looks like a happy place to get some quality work done, doesn't it? I have an orange desk lamp like the one in the photo that makes me happy. I love the wall color too and the overall design of this modern workspace.

Fabric Basket, Bin, Bucket Tutorials (Sewing)

Tutorial: Fabric Basket

No-interfacing Storage Basket Tutorial

Square-bottomed canvas bucket with TUTORIAL

Collapsible Storage Baskets

I have often admired some of these crafts on Etsy but have wanted to make my own. Now I can and so can you. Thank me later. The first one would be good for Easter. It's not necessary do do the little pieces sewn together if you have a nice print you want to use instead. I'm excited, aren't you?

Original source for these tutorials found @ How About Orange but some were no longer available or missing pages.

Sewing Machine Cover made from a tea towel . . .

I've been saving this idea from a very old Martha Stewart Living Magazine for quite some time. I keep my sewing maching out at all times so I can mend or sew a seam at the drop of a hat. I always have to dust it off too. I think I am going to make one of these covers. I have all the necessary supplies including a roll of white cotton twill tape. I will post a photo when mine is finished. This looks like a fun and easy project!
